27 Jul Changes to Shipments from the USA to China, Russia & Venezuela
Due to ongoing Export Compliance changes instituted by the U.S. Federal Government, all shipments with destinations of China, Russia or Venezuela must now adhere to the below documentation requirements:
Effective June 29, 2020, shipments tendered from the U.S. to China, Russia, or Venezuela must include either of the following:
Proof of AES EEI filing Internal Transaction Number (ITN)
ECCN or EAR99 for each line item on the Commercial Invoice or a Shipper’s Letter of Instruction
The purpose behind these requirements is to make sure that the shipments are not forbidden due to certain export licensing requirements. Many products, as well as companies and individuals require special permission from the U.S. Government to export to China, Russia and Venezuela. As such the above requirement validates that U.S. Exporters have done their due diligence and searched for if they need to acquire an export license for their export shipments.
Please contact us at LR INTERNATIONAL if you have questions. Shipments without this language on the documents could be refused overseas or “returned to sender” at the USA shipper’s expense.
