Every year as the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays approach we see congestion on Air Exports as cargo space becomes overbooked by the airlines. This year we are seeing significant congestion that startred at the beginning of the month. Many airlines are booked through the month of November with no space available. We expect this trend to worsen as we move closer to the Christmas and New Years holiday.
The congestion is forcing standard air service to be overbooked and carriers have increased their standard rates. Any urgent orders are being forced to pay additional costs for expedited service. Every shipment will be looked at by LRI on an individual basis to try to find the best routing. If you expect to have any air freight exports please contact us as soon as possible so we can make a booking in advance.
